Genotype | S//?, I//+ |
Andalusian is a phenotype found in many breeds of pigeon.
Description
This phenotype is named for its similarity to the colour of Andalusian Blue chickens.
Genotype
Andalusian is the combination of (heterozygous or homozygous) spread with heterozygous indigo.
"Double Factor" Andalusian
When a pigeon is homozygous for indigo instead of heterozygous, the phenotype markedly changes. The body of the pigeon becomes much lighter, often laced, and the head is a plum or navy colour.
