Gazzi Triganino Modena.
Locus z locus
Genetic symbol z
Common name Gazzi
Inheritance Autosomal recessive
Mutation type Colour modifier
Commonly found in breeds such as: Modena pigeons, Strasser pigeons.

Gazzi is an allele at the z locus. This mutation is recessive to wild type.

In the homozygous form gazzi presents as a pigeon with a coloured head, wingshield, flight feathers and tail – with the neck, breast and remainder of the body white.

Gazzi is an autosomal recessive mutation. This means that both parents need to carry the mutant gene for it to express in the next generation. As a recessive mutation, it is possible for this mutation to be carried by a bird who does not visually express it.
