American Indian Fantail is a breed of Fantail known for its big size. It is developed in one of Arab countries.
Description
The main feature of American Indian Fantail is Big size. Some other features are Large feather length, Big flat tail, long flights, Big Shell crest and large dense muffs.It is one of the most famous fancy breed in Pakistan,Arab and India and there are many devoted breeder of this fantail in all of these countries. They are not Indian Fantails, Although both breeds may look same but there are many differences. Some differences are American Indian Fantails is larger breed than Indian Fantail. Unlike Indian Fantails, American Indian Fantails always have Flat tail and tail feathers are much larger.
This breed comes in all colors including Self colors (Recessive Red, Recessive Yellow, White, Black, etc), Almond, Dominant Opal, Recessive Opal, Milky, Reduced and different colors of Body mark, Saddle and tail mark birds have also produced.
History
According to given information the Arabs have used Indian Fantail Pigeons or probably Lakka Pigeons with Hungarian Giant pigeon,Old Dutch Cropper and other large local breeds to developed this breed over many generations.This breed is not a newly built breed rather even in Pakistan it was present 50 years ago. There are many devoted breeder in Lahore,Mianwali and Sargodha cities of Pakistan and every breeder is trying to breed bigger size and bigger tail birds.
