White producing colored babies.

Post by RichOnLife »

Hello,
I am pretty new to the world of pigeons and I have a question....

I have a pair of white homers that I have had since Oct '20. They paired up and have been producing beautiful white babies that are training really well, out to 65 miles. I do not race, just train on my own.

Well, their last round has one pure white, and one full of color (Mostly dark check wings and white body.

Is this normal? I assumed that they would produce all white. Can somebody explain it? Please dumb it down, i'm new!

Thank you for your time!

Do you know what genes are causing your white? Take a look at https://www.pigeongenetics.com/wiki/index.php/White

I assumed they were both Homozygous recessive white, but the color on the squab is making me rethink this conclusion. Unless, of course this is possible.
Thank you

Do your whites have coloured eyes, or dark "bull" eyes?
