I'm starting to breed almonds and I've heard these two terms come up but don't really understand the difference / genetics. I believe the Deroy is a recessive red pigeon with the ST gene but not exactly sure what an agate is or how to tell the difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Picked this up as an ash red hen. I have no experience with ash reds but I’m now wondering it it isn’t indigo due to the darker rump / tail. Is it possible it’s an ash red?
