Baby color and genes at work

Post by CSVA »

I'd like to get an opinion on the color and genes at work on this little one. I'm new to the hobby and I'm still honing my skills. Dad on left mom on right sorry for the bad picture they never seem to co-operate. Thanks in advance.

It is a dilute recessive red, aka "recessive yellow".

The mother looks like a dilute blue check (silver check). To get a baby like this it means both parents carry recessive red, and the father also carries dilute.

I was thinking it was a dilute but wasn't very sure.
Thanks a bunch.

If the pair is not kept in isolation, then the participation of another male, for example, a recessive yellow one, cannot be ruled out, right?
