Sexing pigeons with genetics
Hi, I have a question. If I have a hen that is heterozygous spread paired to a non spread male, and first batch of offsprings is males with Spread. Does that mean all future males from this pair should be Spread also and non spreads females? Since the spread is on the hens Z chromosome, or does it not work like that?

Re: Sexing pigeons with genetics
Spread is not on the Z chromosome, and is not sex linked. Your results in this mating so far have just been a coincidence.
