Pigeon color and genetic

Post by Docky »

Hi everyone! Can you please help me identify this color and what are the genes involved? could be ash spread or recessive opal?
And how can I obtain this color from blue bar or blue check?

Looks like ice. An incomplete dominant gene, you need to find a bird who carries the gene. You cannot produce it with birds who do not.

I will refrase, how this incomplete dominant gene will work if I will cross one ice bar male with one blue bar female? The offsprings will be intermediate color? They need to be in homozygote to express this phenotype? Thanks

Yes, there will be an intermediate phenotype in the F1 young. I've also heard that the addition of "dirty" helps too.
