Cock American show racer. Blue bar but I get confused with the range of depth of blue presumably due to modifiers such as smoky etc. That’s next on my learning curve. Adam is there a YouTube on sooty etc? I personally like the bright blue, which this bird doesn’t have but I’ve seen far darker blues.

American show racer hen. Not sure of the order you describe a colour when two or more mutations are seen. Blue bar pied or pied blue bar.

I hadn’t realised there were checkers and T checkers. These are brothers, a nest pair yearlings just bought them in. American show racers.T checkers look very dark even though they don’t have the dirty modifiers…at least I don’t think they have! Adam ;)

Haha sorry, I haven't done a video on darkening modifiers yet... I really should though.

OK so I’m still learning about modifiers etc…thank you Adam.
I’m going to say this young tippler is a blue bar with the dirty modifier. I’ve heard that called verdunkel, which with my German heritage, I find easier to remember. This bird had dark beak and black feet in the nest.

Correct, that's why the symbol for dirty is "V" :)

Thank you Adam. Is the depth of dirty related to whether the V is homozygous or heterozygous?

That is hard to answer. We're not even clear if there is just one "dirty" or multiple, and their effects. This study really threw a spanner in the works. I'd recommend reading it: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101 ... 1.full.pdf
