Spread is espistatic to smokey, it covers it. If anything, smokey helps the spread produce a darker colour.

Dominant and recessive opal are completely unrelated. They are not alleles at the same locus, they're totally separate. They only share a name and a somewhat similar phenotype.

The head shaking would have me worried about PMV, which can be extremely deadly to your other birds.

Unfortunately I've found the Wiki project to be a bit of a failure, and I'm going to "sunset" it. I will keep the pages live, as there is some useful information there for people, however going forward I'm planning on migrating it all to the main PigeonGenetics.com site, and maintaining/up...

I've never tried opals/white bars, but just make sure you're using dominant opal, recessive opal doesn't work.

Pigeons love greens, and acidifying the water can help with the bowel environment. I made a video on it a few years ago. Personally I prefer citric acid over ACV.

I recently had a pair give up on sitting just as their eggs were pipping. Very weird and quite annoying as I needed to shuffle the eggs into other nests to save them.
