Lemon is sex linked recessive so fairly easy to grade into your birds. Lemon cock to normal hen - all hens will be lemon and all cocks will be carriers. Lemon hen to normal cock - all cocks will be carriers. You can fairly easily track who carries the gene as you mate them into your performance bird...

I would not expect those lures to work on a racing pigeon in competition, but they'd likely work on the local feral population.
