The base colour/reduced linkage is fairly weak, you won't be waiting too long :)

No, you cannot produce a check from a pair of bars. HOWEVER, sooty can often mimic check. This bird is homozygous bar, no check gene in him at all.

Both Smoky, maybe also heterozygous for recessive red. One obviously also has white flights.

Strays should always be reported, reputable flyers usually want their birds back, but they may be happy for it to go to a new owner.

I think there is a tailmark gene, but it isn't something I've worked with personally so I'm not sure 100%. Hopefully another breeder can chime in here!
